Iba a comentar la película pero ya no puedo. Estoy abrumado. La grandeza de este señor me supera con creces. Su capacidad para sorprenderme no tiene limites.

Espinoso tema para mí este que comentas. Alguna vez ya te he dicho que este hombre despierta en mi una relación de amor/odio que no acabo de entender. Reniego de la mayoría de sus películas pero siempre vuelvo a él.
A mi Dogville me parece una película excesiva. Tanto en su duración, como en su planteamiento o en la interpretación de sus actores. Aspectos positivos: la puesta en escena, que me sorprendió bastante y no me molestó en absoluto y las intenciones argumentales (que no los resultados de las mismas). Aspectos negativos: la duración (hizo que perdiera el interés), el resultado de sus intenciones argumentales(la crítica a los EEUU me pareció bastante facilona) y el tono general, que me hacía ponerme de mala leche.
Despues pienso, era esto lo que el director quería que sintiéramos los espectadores? En ese caso, me quito el sombrero. Pero como no lo se, no puedo dejar de criticarlo. Por supuesto veré Manderlay por lo que ya te he comentado antes...
Por cierto, lo de Cannes... no se yo si algunos de los que citan van a salir bastante escaldados por el jurado. Por ahora la prensa ya se ha encargado de ellos, y de algunos muy mal.

El diseño de producción me parece un prodigio pero el vacío visual que provoca solo se puede llenar con una fantástica historia (increibles diálogos que vuelven a rayar en el campo de la filosofía al igual que en "Los idiotas") y unas interpretaciones a la altura, aunque no todos los actores están de oscar.
En cuanto al polémico tema de la crítica directa a los E.E.U.U. Lars Von Trier dijo en una entrevista en Cannes en el 2003 que nada más lejos de su intención. Declara no saber nada sobre los Estados Unidos y que las imágenes que le llegan a través de los medios de comunicación han sido las culpables de su percepción de la "gran nación".
